Mental clarity: balance “go” and “recharge.”
Mental health and performance are linked; thinking clearly is key to building your mental health and a happy, high-performance life. Making a 1% change causes a Ripple Effect: Sleeping soundly leads to eating better, which leads to moving more, which benefits our brains. We think clearly. We think positively. We have energy and drive. The power of positive thinking, especially under pressure, opens the gate to living a world-class life where we reach our potential, achieve our dreams, and be as healthy as we can be.
A critical piece to thinking clearly is to balance drive and recharging. If you're in go-mode all the time, you’ll burnout. Take the time to be calm and slow down. Doing this will allow you to access all of your different brainwaves that are critical for creativity, big-picture thinking, and rejuvenation.
Mental health and physical health hold equal weight when it comes to unlocking your highest potential. One of my greatest personal discoveries was learning about the power of meditation and mindfulness. By implementing a daily gratitude practice (identifying 3 things you’re grateful for each day) and practicing 20 minutes of focussed meditation (guided, silent, or to music), you will see huge changes in your life. Your focus will get better, blood pressure will lower, and you’ll even lower your risk of several chronic diseases. Today's world is full of distraction. That leaves us feeling busy and exhausted—we’re controlled by our social media accounts, phones, and smart homes. Take that power back! You are in control of your life.
