10 Key Questions You can Ask Yourself to Set Up an EPIC Year

As I welcome you all to another exciting year, I am here to guide you on a transformative journey toward enhancing your health and wellbeing. This year, we're taking a focused approach, utilizing specific tools, tactics, strategies, and techniques that will make a significant difference in your life. My aim is to keep my content for you research-oriented, drawing from my fascination with human physiology and psychology to help you become your best self.

To that end I have a series of questions I challenge you to ask yourself!

The Significance of Dream Setting

Let me start by emphasizing the importance of asking ourselves the right questions. When we set our dreams correctly, they become our destiny. I want to use this moment for a reset, ensuring we're heading in the right direction. Think big. Set some dreams. Let yourself imagine your powerful future. What is your dream?

Feeling as the Catalyst for Change

In this pursuit of self-improvement, I've learned that our feelings are incredibly powerful drivers of change. So, I ask you, "How do you want to feel this year?" This question is essential because it underpins the behavioral changes we need to make to reach our dreams. It's not just about the actions but the emotions behind those actions.

Small Actions Leading to Big Dreams

Dreaming big is vital, but the real magic happens when we act small—when we break down those dreams into manageable behaviors. That's why I want you to think about, "What are the four behaviors that will move you towards how you want to feel?" These behaviors are the stepping stones toward actualizing how you want to feel by the end of this year.

As we set these behaviors, we'll tap into the science of habit formation, allocating each behavior to a quarter of the year. It's a systematic approach that promises progress without overwhelming us.

What are your 5 Whys’s?

But to truly solidify our path, we must understand our underlying motivations, which brings us to the next pivotal question: "What are your five whys?" This introspective exercise will reveal the depth of your intentions and fortify your commitment to your journey.

Who are you?

Identity plays a central role in this process. As I reflect on my life as an athlete, a coach, and a physiologist, I recognize that aligning my actions with my identity is when I thrive. So I ask you, "Who are you?" Understanding who you are at your core is instrumental in achieving your goals and dreams.

What makes you happy and joyful?

What we seek in life often circles back to our quest for happiness and joy. Thus, I encourage you to ponder, "What brings you happiness?" and "What brings you joy?" Recognizing the external and internal sources of these feelings is crucial in creating a life filled with fulfillment.

What are your sources of energy?

Energy is the fuel for our actions. So, "What brings you energy?" This question will help you identify the activities, people, and environments that invigorate you, providing the stamina needed to pursue your dreams.

Where is Your Sanctuary and Who Are Your People?

Our environment and our relationships are the backdrop against which our lives unfold. Reflecting on this, I want you to think about, "What are your places?" and "Who are your people?" These are the spaces and faces that support and enhance our wellbeing, and recognizing them can make all the difference in our journey.

What if things turned out even better than I expected?

Finally, I invite you to look ahead with optimism and ask yourself, "What if things turned out even better than I expected?" This visualization is a powerful practice that can propel you towards achieving more than you might think possible.

May we all reach the dreams we dare to dream.

This year is about action and true commitment to our growth. I am here to support you every step of the way, sharing insights and strategies that will move you closer to your dreams. So, take this moment to journal your thoughts, set your intentions, and prepare for a year of meaningful change. Together, let's embrace the challenge of transforming our dreams into our reality.
