#7. How World Class Daily Practice Can Help You Sustain Your Game.

Today’s guest is Performance Coach Alan Stein.

What are we key question that we are trying to solve?

Alan Stein Jr.’s superpower lies in translating the world of elite sports into actionable strategies for business and life. After two decades “in the trenches” as a basketball performance coach, he discovered that success hinges on mastering fundamentals—establishing trust, practicing relentlessly and focusing on controllables like attitude and effort.

You will learn that fundamentals matter, the mindset is critical and that we can elevate others through our own practices.

You’ll discover how to practice the “Next Play” mindset. This simple habit—used by elite athletes—keeps you present, builds resilience and prevents rumination.

In high‑pressure environments it’s easy to become overwhelmed by adversity, negative feedback and the relentless pace of work. Alan’s framework helps listeners break that cycle by zeroing in on what they can control, mastering basic habits and building resilience. His approach will resonate with anyone seeking sustainable performance without burnout.

Key take aways:

  1. Trust first; coach second.

  2. Fundamentals are the foundation of excellence.

  3. Control attitude, effort and daily process.

  4. Feedback is neutral data for growth.

  5. Move on to the next play.

I got back to the basics, and … realized that the basics are the foundation on which success is built.
